World Bank Nepal and Society of Economic Journalists (SEJON) launched and discussed a report presented by Systematic Country Diagnostic (SCD) supported by the World Bank, titled ‘A New Approach for a Federal Nepal.’ Pushpa Raj Acharya, President of SEJON gave the opening remarks followed by the launch of Nepal SCD 2018 by chief guest Shankar Prasad Adhikari, Secretary, Ministry of Finance.
Ruth Hill, Co-Author of Nepal SCD 2018 gave a presentation on the report in which she explained that SCD is an evidence-based diagnostic document which intends to inform about policy debates around Nepal’s development choices, and serves as an input to the Government of Nepal’s planning process as well as the World Bank Group’s programme of assistance.
The event continued with a panel discussion moderated by Prateek Pradhan. Panel members were Dr. Min Bahadur Shrestha, Kewal Prasad Bhandari, Jeevan Bahadur Shahi, Namrata Sharma, Suraj Vaidya, Ruth Hill and Ashish Narain.
