AMCHAM Nepal holds first AGM

KATHMANDU:  The American Chamber of Commerce Nepal (AmCham) held its first annual general meeting (AGM) in Kathmandu last week. Chairman of AmCham Nepal, Ajit Shah, presided at the meeting attended by its members including the Board of Directors, Nirmal Kajee Shrestha from MetLife, Akash Golchha, from GO Automobiles, Asheem Man Singh Basnyat from Pathao Nepal, Atulya Risal from Ambarkaar Software, Jayadin Shrestha from ICTC Holdings, Kailash Bijayananda from Leapfrog Technology and Semanta Dahal from Abhinawa Law Chambers. Addressing the AGM, AmCham Chairman Shah said, “Our unique strength comes from the collaboration of our strong member companies, our regional network of the Amcham Chapters, our association to the US Chamber of Commerce and the US Embassy in Nepal,” and added, “based on the data we received from a survey conducted between our members, we were able to identify three key categories — Financial Committee, Policy and Advocacy Committee and the Networking Committee — where we have been able to make good progress during the year.” The respective committee members presented the development on each of these categories which were endorsed by the Board along with the annual review and financial statement. The Chairman and the members of the Board of Directors were re-elected for another term of office until the next AGM.
