Amnesty International Nepal donates books to Central Jail library

A A- A+

On October 24, Amnesty International Nepal and Amnesty International Nepal affiliated Group 18 Kathmandu jointly donated 182 books on various themes and 188 Amnesty reports and publications to the library of Nepal’s Central Jail. Amnesty International Nepal’s founder Nutan Thapaliya and Amnesty International Nepal Chair Bikram Dhukuchhu handed over the books and publications to the jail authorities. Amnesty Nepal’s founder Nutan Thapaliya was originally inspired by the idea of donating books to the jail and said that reading brings solace to the mind is a means to learn, grow and be cultured. The donated books, most of which are in Nepali, range from fiction, non-fiction, books on literature, history, culture, politics, religion, sociology, law, human rights and travel.  Likewise, research reports and publications by Amnesty International Nepal on human rights themes in Nepal and the world also made the list.
