KATHMANDU: A book titled 'Nepalka Bhasha Ra Sarkari Kamkaj: Samvaidhanik Vyavastha Ra Vikalpa' (Languages of Nepal and Official Communications: Constitutional Provisions and Alternatives) by Bhim Narayan Regmi has been launched. According to statistics, more than 7,100 languages are spoken around the world and at least 140 languages are spoken in Nepal. But we have no idea about the facts of the languages spoken. Although some speculations have been made in this regard, no logical discussion has taken place yet. Regmi, who works at the Central Department of Linguistics, Tribhuvan University, collected data on the languages spoken in 753 local bodies in the country. In this book, author Regmi has simplified the statistics related to the language of Nepal. After conducting research on the history of languages in Nepal, author Regmi has included logic and facts about language spoken at province and local level, mother tongue at local level, language policy and official language of Nepal. Detailed statistics on languages spoken at all local levels are also included in the book. The book has been published by Facts Research and Analytics. The 330-page book by Regmi is priced at Rs 1,100. This book can be purchased online from various bookstores. READ ALSO:
