Bagmati province presents economic survey; budget to be unveiled

MAKAWANPUR: The 10th session of Bagmati Province Assembly concluded on Tuesday. Several reports, including Province Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2021/22 were presented at the Province Assembly meeting. On the occasion, Chief Minister Rajendra Prasad Pandey presented annual report of the Province Public Service Commission of the 2077-78 BS. Likewise, Province Affairs Committee President Madhav Poudel, Finance and Development Committee President Narayan Bahadur Silwal, Education, Health and Agriculture Committee President Keshab Prasad Pokharel and Industry, Tourism and Environment Committee President Ram Ale presented their respective reports. Likewise, Minster for Economic Affairs and Planning Shalikram Jamakattel presented the economic survey for the fiscal year 2021/22 in the meeting. While presenting the economic survey, Minister Jamakattel said out of the country's estimated Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Rs 4,851 billion and 620 million in the fiscal year 2022/23, Bagmati Province will contribute the highest share of Rs 1,790 billion 680 million (36.9%). Similarly, Bagmati Province has an estimated GDP contribution of Rs 1,790 billion and 680 million in the fiscal year 2022/23. Minister Janakattel further informed that the province's economic growth rate is estimated to be 6.60% in the coming fiscal year. Speaker Sanu Kumar Shrestha informed that next PA meeting will take place today at 4:00 pm. The province government is scheduled to unveil the budget for the next fiscal year 2022/23. READ ALSO:
