Bara-Parsa Industry Association established in Madhes Province

KATHMANDU: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has established Bara-Parsa Industry Association in Madhesh Province. The association came into being during industrial conclave organised by Madhesh Province government, CNI and UKaid Skills for Employment Programme Nepal in Simara of Bara district. The conclave has been organised with an objective to review progress on economic growth and upcoming action plans. Meanwhile, the newly established association is chaired by Birendra Kumar Sanghai, Director of Annapurna Vegetables Products. Inaugurating the conclave on Tuesday, Madhesh Province Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut said industry-friendly environment would serve as the main basis for prosperity in Madhesh Province. CM Raut stated that the provincial government has adopted a one-door policy to address the issues being faced by the industrialists in running industries,  He shared the provincial government decided to establish the Department of Industry in Birgunj. According to him, most of the foreign-bound youths are from Madhesh Province. He also urged all the stakeholders to collaborate with the provincial government to help create jobs at home and prevent the exodus of youths to foreign employment. Satish Kumar More, outgoing president of CNI, appealed to the government to facilitate in directly procuring electricity to Madhesh Province from other provinces to run the industries. Rajesh Agrawal, Vice-President of the CNI, underscored continuous dialogue and coordination with the private sector for prosperity. He also pointed out the need to sensitise and update the private sector about the new laws and regulations. On the occasion, Nicola Pollitt, British Ambassador to Nepal, said Madhesh Province had a huge economic potential. She opined that the conclave was an important 'platform' for public private dialogue and cooperation. "It is equally important for the private sector to work together with government for economic development."
