Bharatpur Airport will be expanded soon: Minister Shrestha

CHITWAN: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha has said Bharatpur Airport will be expanded in the current fiscal year 2022/23. Nepal Army is ready to provide the land for the project and construction work will be carried out soon, Minister Shrestha said while taking part in an interaction programme on the expansion of the airport organised by Bharatpur Metropolitan City in Chitwan on Wednesday. "The Ministry has given high priority to the project. It requires around 300 metres of land for the upgradation of the airport and a talk to this effect with the Army Chief was positive," said Minister Shrestha. Similarly, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Pradeep Adhikari, said a detailed study report will be carried out soon with the budget from the CAAN. Pledging help for facilitating construction work on the part of the Bharatpur metropolis, Mayor Renu Dahal urged for the construction of the airport soon. READ ALSO:
