Birgunj Metropolis unveils budget over Rs 3.21 billion

BIRGUNJ: Birgunj Metropolitan City has presented a budget of over Rs 3.21 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2023/24. Birgunj Metropolis Mayor Rajesh Man Singh introduced the annual estimate of revenue and expenses at the 13th Municipal Assembly of the Metropolis on Sunday. Among the allocated budget by the only metropolis in the Madhesh Province, over Rs 2.48 billion has been allocated for the current expenditure and over Rs 680 million for the capital expenditure. Likewise, over Rs 36 million has been set for financial management, informed Mayor Singh. Similarly, over Rs 1.2 billion will be received from the internal income while over Rs 1.3 billion will be received from the federal government as a financial transfer while over Rs 44 million is estimated to receive from the provincial government. Similarly, over Rs 250 million will be managed from the federal government's revenue distribution and over Rs 27 million from the provincial government's revenue distribution.
