BYD holds South Asia regional meet in Nepal

KATHMANDU: BYD, the world’s leading new energy vehicle manufacturer, held 'BYD South Asia Regional Meet 2022' in Nepal on November 24. The event had participants from BYD Headquarters in Shenzhen, BYD India and Cimex Inc, the authorised distributor of BYD in Nepal. With the meteoric global rise, BYD is now penetrating the South Asia electric vehicle market for passenger vehicles. In the past six months, Nepal and India have expanded their network with showrooms, workshops, and charging stations with the goal of leading the market. Speaking at the event, Ketsu Zhang, head of BYD South Asia, Deputy General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific region pointed out the prowess of BYD which rolled out its three million new energy vehicles recently. He further marked the event as ‘Kick off’ for the new era of electric mobility in South Asia and highlighted the importance of strategic cooperation, collaboration, and cooperation between dealer partners for the synchronised growth of BYD in South Asia. Yamuna Shrestha, Managing Director of Cimex Inc highlighted how Nepal is leading the charge in the adaption of electric mobility in the South Asia region with more than 10% market share of electric vehicles in new vehicle registration. She also expressed the revolutionary BYD state-of-the-art technology is creating an evolution and paradigm shift in the global automobile industry and has been reflected in the South Asia region including markets in Nepal and India. BYD India's dealer representative of 13 dealer groups from various cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Hyderabad participated in the event. The dealer representative spoke about how well BYD e6 and Atto 3 have been perceived in the Indian market with 600 e6 already on the road and nearly 1,500 Atto 3 bookings since its launch last month in India. Cimex Inc, the authorised distributor of BYD Auto Industry Co, in Nepal, has already expanded the dealership networks in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Chitwan, Biratnagar, Birtamod, Butwal, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi. With regards to BYD's position in Nepal, Cimex has recently launched the state-of-art showroom and workshop in Kathmandu while also introducing BYD ATTO 3 — the first sporty electric SUV in Nepal. There is also a discussion on inter-country common charge points starting from Nepal and India and covering South Asia in the coming days for the BYD vehicles. READ ALSO:
