Carlsberg Golf 2016 ends the year on high note

Carlsberg Golf 2016 concluded in a grand event at Gokarna Forest Resort with Carlsberg adding its unique touch to one of the esteemed golfing events of the country. The tournament witnessed the country’s top amateur golfers at the highest level of competition. The event is played on a stabelford format with ¾ handicap. Pemba Sherpa won the Carlsberg Golf 2016. Playing with 8 handicap, Pemba accumulated 37 stableford points to claim the tournament. Nearest competitor, SSP (retd) Rajendra Shrestha scored 36 points to finish runner-up in the tournament on the count back after being tied with Maj Gen (retd) Mahesh Bikram Karki. Vijay Shrestha Einhaus won the best gross award with 35 gross points and he also bagged longest drive after hitting a drive of 330 yards on 18th hole. Maj Gen (Retd) Mahesh Bikram Karki scored 36 points to claim senior (age 60 and above) winner award , he also bagged closest to the pin on 10th hole. Col (retd) Sashi Singh finished second in the seniors with 34 points. Pratima Sherpa won the ladies section trophy with 27 points and Kalpana Limbu finished runner-up with 25 points. Wanchen Dhondup took the most birdies trophy by making four-birdies in the tournament. A total of 90 players took part in the tournament. Managing Director of Gorkha Brewery Arun Adhikary, Marketing Director Baibhav Sharma, Sales Director Kajiman Subba and President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire gave away the prizes to the winners of the tournament.
