Chinese delegation calls on Pokhara Metropolis Mayor Acharya

POKHARA: A Chinese delegation called on Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-China diplomatic relations. During the meeting with the commerce delegation from Kunming City, Yunnan Province of China, discussions were held on how the two cities could collaborate in future, mayor Acharya said. The five-member Chinese delegation is led by Lingchen Hun. Construction of a theme park of various cities with which Pokhara Metropolis has established sister city relations, and the designation of special corners reflecting the identity of these cities at the theme park was also figured in the discussion. It is hoped that the construction of the theme park will help increase the number of Chinese visitors to Pokhara. A Chinese team is studying the existing parks in the city for constructing the theme park. The Chinese delegation pledged to donate medical equipment worth Rs 5 million to Pokhara Metropolis. Mayor Acharya also urged the  Chinese delegation to take initiatives for starting direct air connectivity between Pokhara and Kunming after the operation of Pokhara International Airport. To this, the Chinese team responded positively. Pokhara has established sisterly relations with Kunming, Guangzhou, Yibin, Chiuchow, Haikou, Nanning  and other Chinese cities. Apart from these, Pokhara has also established sister city ties with Komanage city of Japan, Adler city of Turkey and Gangbuk city of South Korea. READ ALSO:
