Kathmandu: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale has pledged to end irregularities at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
Minister Ale said this while monitoring the airport on Monday.
The minister added service providers were found to be fleecing service seekers under various pretexts. Tea stalls, groceries and cabs serving passengers were found to be charging high prices for their services, Minister Ale stated.
Moreover, the minister has sought a written response from the director of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) regarding its flight which left for Bhojpur from Kathmandu on Sunday leaving some passengers behind. He mentioned that the relation with passengers must be cordial.
Minister Ale said he expected NAC to operate the e-ticketing facility soon as he has already issued a directive to the concerned authorities regarding the issue. He also made a commitment to upgrade NAC.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to manage parking space in various airports including Dhangadhi, Nepalgunj, Pokhara, Bhairahawa and Biratnagar for aircraft to ease the pressure at TIA.
