Lawmakers demand for probe into NRB guv’s alleged party membership

KATHMANDU: Lawmakers have sought a probe into allegation that Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari is a member of the CPN (UML)'s economic and planning department. Speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives today, CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Rekha Sharma said there is a provision that an individual associated with any party should not be appointed the Governor in contravention of the existing laws, the Bank's Act and Regulations. She demanded an investigation into this connection and action against both sides — the side making the appointment and the side that got appointed. The UML's latest intra-party directive states that Adhikari (Khotang) has been appointed as a member of the CPN (UML) economic and planning department. BNy RSS READ ALSO:
