Infosys awarded $40 million contract for digital transformation of Himalaya Jet

KATHMANDU: IT giant Infosys Ltd won a $40 million contract to provide comprehensive digital transformation services to the brand new, premium British long-haul airline Himalaya Jet.

Under the contract, Infosys worth $70 billion will also engage with Gurung family Conglomerate's other entities — Prive Cinema, a Luxury Boutique private screening in Conjunction with high-end 5-star hotels in 22 countries mainly in America, Asia and Europe along with Miss World in more than 140 countries worldwide from 71st edition worldwide. 

Dipendra Gurung MloD, President, of Gurung Family Conglomerate and Simon Tucker, Managing Partner from Infosys, signed an agreement at the Corporate Headquarters of Gurung Family Conglomerate in London, on August 23, 2023.

Himalaya Jet valued at £1.6 billion with 800 million shares currently, is Incorporated in the United Kingdom. The digital transformation process will start with Himalaya Jet and its Loyalty Programme, Himalaya Miles — the most generous loyalty programme in the World.

Himalaya Jet plans to start operation in the third quarter of 2023. Before taking delivery of 18 wide-body aircraft by 2025, Himalaya Jet will begin operations with commercial scheduled chartered flights. The company valuation is estimated to be £7 billion by 2025.

Along with flights, Himalaya Jet will introduce one of the most generous and best customer-friendly loyalty schemes. The Loyalty scheme, Himalaya Jet Miles, will be linked with handpicked renowned 5/4-star hotels, casinos, cars, spas, golf courses, English Premier League clubs, restaurants, shopping malls, cinema, amusement parks, helicopter charters, domestic airlines, and other service providers worldwide.

It is said, the airline company will secure 12 million loyalty passengers in the first two years of operation prior to 2025. 

In partnership with American Express/ Master Card and Visa cards, the Himalaya Jet loyalty scheme will be the best seamless platform to meet the needs of every traveller. 

Infosys will work with Himalaya Jet in implementing a world-class platform to support all areas of Himalaya Jet including flights, hotel bookings, loyalty schemes, holiday packages, casino packages and other bespoke services. 

The premium long-haul airline will operate direct flights (point-to-point model) among 33 cities worldwide especially joining three Casino hubs — Monte Carlo, Macau and Las Vegas — and London, Paris, Manchester, Edinburgh, Geneva, Zurich, Milan, Venice, Rome, Miami, Washington DC, New York, Manchester, Paris, Frankfurt, Rome, Venice, Madrid, Hongkong, Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Kathmandu, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Perth and Sydney.

Similarly, Himalaya Jet will also be operating non-stop flights to its destinations without the hassle of transit for its passengers. Due to the non-stop direct flights, all Himalaya Jet flights will have a lower carbon footprint with 30% less carbon emissions.
