Indo-Nepal Wedding Summit 2023 held in Kathmandu

A A- A+

KATHMANDU: Bull Events Nepal, a sister organisation of Bull Events — an Indian luxury Wedding Planning company — organised ‘Indo-Nepal Wedding Summit 2023’ in Kathmandu, on Friday.

Nepal Tourism Board facilitated the event with the aim of elevating Nepal’s position as a wedding destination and exchanging good mutual support between the two countries. More than 200 people including guests from Nepal and India and mediapersons attended the event.

The Indo-Nepal Wedding Summit is a collaborative project of Nepal and India to showcase Nepal as a prime destination for weddings.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kiranti inaugurated the event. The minister in his address to the event said, “This type of programme helps enhance the quality of tourism in both countries and also uplifts the quality of the relationship between two countries. I believe the relationship between Nepal and India is as open as its borders. Our relationship has won the political boundary. We have a ‘Roti-Beti’(bread and daughter) relationship. This relationship is there forever. He expressed his confidence that this program would encourage the celebrations of more and more Indian weddings in Nepal.

Maneesh Srivastava, President of Indo-Nepal wedding summit, marked the opening of the event highlighting the agendas of Nepal and India's partnership.

Nepal Tourism Board CEO Dhananjay Regmi, in his welcome remarks, stated, “We are pleased to extend a beautiful business collaboration with India. Nepal has got a true partner.” Regmi, through his speech, encouraged Indian people to come to Nepal to celebrate the wedding. Nepal stands out in providing the best destination wedding services. He said, “Nepal is rich in culture, the weather is beautiful, and even during the summer, people can enjoy the preferred service as they like. Nepal’s natural beauty makes it the best place for celebrations like weddings. All we need to do is to enhance the existing resources and make them worthy. Various different cultures of India and Nepal are similar which makes it easier for people to coordinate well in the process.”

Event and Entertainment Management Association President Samir Garg gave his insight on motivating individuals to be open to collaborations and challenges. He praised the collaboration and extended a positive keynote. “Let’s show up and do something bigger. All you need to do is to recognise the opportunity and dreams. If you cannot dream, you cannot achieve any bigger,” he suggested. This collaboration between Nepal and India would benefit businesses that want to expand and grow better, he expressed his hope.

He stressed the role of the government of both countries for proper guidance referring to the terms of customs and temporary import of jewellery.

Addressing the event, Indo-Nepal Wedding Summit Secretary Priyanka Jalan said, “Bull started as a small venture in Nepal in 2018 and since then we have had a steady growth and expansion. With the blend of innovative designs and tradition, we have established ourselves as one of the top event management companies in Nepal. The company strives to be at the forefront of innovation in event management and expand its footprint in the new market in the near future.

“We as a company are well equipped to support you. From a world-class hotel, excellent connectivity, blend of traditional and modern entertainment, exclusive cuisine, I assure you Nepal is ready to host Indian wedding,“ she said.

Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) President Binayak Shah expressed his best wishes for the business collaboration and urged the delegates to continue this relationship.

The event concluded with a networking session over dinner.
