KATHMANDU: Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (SEJON) has decided to expand the awards it has been giving to journalists every year.
Along with SEJON Award, there will be three other awards — SEJON Print Media Award, SEJON Broadcast Award (radio, television) and SEJON Digital Media Award (online) — that will be given to journalists contributing to society through different means of communication.
SEJON Award carries a purse of Rs 100,000 while the three other awards being introduced this year will have Rs 50,000 each.
The awards will be given to the best news published and broadcast from November 17, 2021, to November 16, 2022.
Meanwhile, SEJON has asked journalists who want to take part in the awards to provide the news and articles published and broadcast in the media to SEJON Secretariat or to send the articles to the E-mail: [email protected]
Dr Bhola Chalise Liberal Journalism Award The representative body of professional economic journalists has also decided to give an award in memory of the Late Dr Bhola Chalise who was a staunch advocate of a liberal economy. Economist Chalise had discharged several responsibilities at the National Planning Commission, Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Local development. The SEJON in cooperation with Chalise's family and Samriddhi Foundation will give 'Dr Bhola Chalise Liberal Journalism Award' to the best journalist who has contributed to the open market economy. SEJON has been conducting various programmes for enhancing the capacity of its members and encourage writing.
Sanjay Neupane Research Grant SEJON has asked professional journalists to apply for 'Sanjay Neupane Research Grant'. Under 'Sanjay Neupane Research Grant', SEJON provides Rs 100,000 to a journalist for special research in the economic sector. READ ALSO:
