A A- A+
KATHMANDU: Ace Institute of Management, one of the leading management colleges in Nepal, concluded Ace Ignite — a 48-hour hackathon with a rationale to unleash the potential of aspiring innovators in Nepal. Ace Ignite is the first of its kind held on the premises of Ace Institute of Management, with more than 100 participants from more than 45 colleges inside and outside the valley. The event was supported by national and international sponsors including Github, Devfolio, Taskade, Microsoft Student Learn Ambassador, Polygon, Worldlink, Makuse and Saral Lagani. Prajwal Shrestha, the event lead, said, “Seeing the young minds from the diverse fields working together to create innovative solutions that actually solved the problem led the team to a conclusion that “Yes, we Did” “Yes, we Will” and “Yes, we Can” can change the world for the better. Further, the enthusiasm of the participants did ignite the flame at the end”. Benzin Dahal, one of the mentors, said, “It was an amazing experience seeing youths collaborating in a single platform to create such an amazing innovation that addresses a real-world problem. The best thing about the hackathon was that they were not just limiting them to their innovations but working hard to get their innovations into the hands of people who are in need.” Likewise, the Chief Guest at the event, Amit Kumar Panda, Country Manager of Xiaomi Nepal, said, “It was a pleasure to be a part of a great event organised by a such an energetic group of students for their contemporary young minds. Seeing the youth focusing on bringing innovation to life in a collaborative space to transform their ideas into real life was an exhilarating experience.” Three winners of Ace Ignite were announced. Team YAARS — Yunika Bajracharya, Anuj Chhetri, Ashmit Rajaure, Rujal Acharya and  Suban Shrestha — came in the first position, Team PNP — Banshaj Paudel, Nadika Poudel, Krishbin Paudel and Mahima Dhakal — in the second position and Team Teletubbies — Sugam Paudyal, Roshish Shrestha, Simon Pradhananga, Samir Shrestha and Aayush Raj Pandey — in the third position.
