Head of Sales and Country Lead for Nepal, Junu Maleku, said, “On announcing the resumption of our passenger services from Kathmandu, we received a favourable response from our passengers and trade partners. Not only was it humbling to welcome back our guests as we took to the skies again, but also extremely encouraging as we look to scale up our local and global network operations.” In addition to the airline’s cargo-only, passenger flights between Kathmandu and Hong Kong, the increase in passenger operations further supports the cargo demand on this route by providing additional cargo capacity in the form of aircraft belly space.
Fly to Hong Kong or beyond with eased travel restrictions and exclusive offers Following the Hong Kong SAR Government’s latest measures to remove the hotel quarantine arrangement for passengers arriving in Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific is continuing to add as many passenger flights for customers as is feasible. The airline has already added more than 400 flight sectors to and from regional and long-haul destinations in October and has resumed passenger flights to five destinations this month – including Kathmandu – bringing the total number of destinations to 51. In addition to the flight sectors, previously scheduled for November and December, Cathay Pacific will be adding close to 700 and 1,200 sectors respectively. This will add more than half a million seats for passengers to choose from. Many of these additional seats are for popular destinations, including Japan, where Cathay Pacific has already increased Tokyo (Narita) frequencies to 86 flight sectors and Osaka to 106 sectors in October. An additional 146 sectors in November and 234 in December will be operated on top of the sectors previously scheduled for Japan in these two months. This will add close to 140,000 seats over this period for fans of Japan heading to Osaka, Tokyo (Narita and Haneda, the latter resuming in November), and Sapporo (resuming in December). Customers can also take advantage of an array of offers when booking with Cathay Pacific, including exclusive student discounts to the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan, and 20% off Hong Kong’s Airport Express service when travelling to Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific is the home airline of Hong Kong with over 75 years of history and is a founding member of the oneworld global alliance. The Cathay Pacific Group also comprises low-cost airline HK Express and express all-cargo carrier Air Hong Kong, connecting people and cargo around the world.
