Listikot-Dugunagadhi Mountain Trail Race on Nov 3

KATHMANDU: The third 'Listikot-Dugunagadhi Mountain Trail Race' will take place in Sindhupalchok district on coming November 3. The event aims to promote the historic and religious importance of Dugunagadhi and Listikot in Sindhupalchwk, according to the organiser Nepali Army (NA). Photo courtesy: Sushan Musyaju[/caption] The 24.5-kilometre race starting from the dry port on the banks of the Bhotekoshi River will go through the new bridge before concluding at Dugunagadhi, the NA Directorate of Public Relations and Information said. The Listimai Temple and Dugunadahi remain along the route that was used during the Nepal-Tibet war. The NA took the initiative to organise the competition that is expected to develop the place as a tourist destination by exposing the historic and religious importance of Dugunagadhi and Listikot in Sindhupalchok district. The race is divided into three categories — open, women and the one for the residents of the district. Under open, winner, first runner-up and second runner-up will receive Rs 110,000, Rs 75,000 and Rs 55,000 cash respectively. Similarly, under women, winner, first runner-up and second runner-up will get Rs 60,000, Rs 35,000 and Rs 20,000 cash respectively and certificates. Under the one for the residents of the district, winner, first runner-up and second runner-up will get Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 cash respectively. By RSS READ ALSO:
