KATHMANDU: In a groundbreaking event, Omega Championship, Nepal’s pioneering organisation in promoting Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), unveiled its first-ever 'Omega Championship Fight'.
The MMA competition held at Anmol Banquet in Shankhamul, Kathmandu brought together martial arts enthusiasts from near and far.
A total of ten sensational fights are set to captivate the audience, including three intense pro-fights and seven exhilarating amateur clashes.
As the event unfolds, a vibrant crowd of 600 participants eagerly anticipates the breathtaking showdowns yet to come. A captivating blend of talent has converged on the stage, with 20 exceptional fighters poised to leave their mark. Among them, 12 fighters represent the indomitable spirit of Nepal, while eight fierce contenders hail from India, fostering an exhilarating sense of international competition.
Dubbed 'Omega Fight Night', this extraordinary event has ignited intense excitement among fans. The main event will witness Nepal’s own Kosish Shrestha pitted against India’s formidable Vicky Gwade, promising a clash of titans that will reverberate through the arena. In the co-main event, India’s Hansraj Samata and Prakhar Subhasung will engage in a display of unparalleled skill and unwavering determination. Another thrilling match in the professional preliminaries awaits as India’s Lav Singh squares off against Ankit Panchal.

Among the incredible amateur fights witnessed so far, Samar Aryan emerged victorious in an enthralling contest against Jordan Tendhar Ghale, leaving the audience in awe of Aryan’s skill and tenacity. In an equally compelling matchup, Allen Thakali of Muay Thai Pokhara showcased his expertise to triumph over Karn Bahadur Magarati. The heavyweight amateur bout witnessed a fierce showdown between Nepal’s Dikpal Karki and India’s Dhruv Shirodkar, resulting in a resounding victory for Karki.
The event continues to captivate audiences as both Pro and amateur fights unfold with intense fervour. Notably, participants and winners in both categories will receive well-deserved cash prizes. In the Pro category, each contender is guaranteed a base prize of 15,000, with the victor earning an additional 15,000. Excitement builds as organisers have announced an enticing bonus of 15,000 for any match decided by a knockout. In the amateur division, competitors can anticipate a prize of 7,000 each, while the winner of each match will receive an extra 7,000. An astonishing bonus of 7,000 awaits any amateur fighter who secures victory via knockout.
