Furniture fair to take place in Kathmandu on Sep 8 

KATHMANDU: Furniture and furnishing fair will take place at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu from September 8 to 12. Furniture and Furnishing Association is set to organise the fair with assistance from the Federation of Handicraft Association of Nepal, the IDEA Nepal and the Space Magazine. The expo will be participated by various furniture-producing companies from countries including Nepal, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Furnishings related to kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, outdoor and interior design, carpet and marble will be put on display, said the Association President Shuvendra Joshi. Furniture worth Rs 60 billion are transacted annually in Nepal of which around 50% is imported from foreign countries, Joshi said. Event Solution will manage the fair while the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and the Nepal Federation of Furniture and Furnishing Entrepreneurs have promoted it.
