KATHMANDU: Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (NYEF) Kathmandu Chapter and HIVER jointly organised 'NYEF Youth Day 2022', a speed-mentoring event, to mark International Youth Day, on August 12.
The event aimed to provide young aspiring student entrepreneurs with the opportunity to understand where they are and what should be their next steps in building their businesses.
Speed mentoring is a series of short conversations about specific questions. Participating students were also given an opportunity to network with entrepreneurs after the event.
More than 40 students had applied from many different colleges out of which 20 were selected.

'I needed ideas and specific insights in equity dilution, which is something I particularly got from the mentors. I would never have imagined getting such customised and tailored guidance elsewhere in a classroom, so I am very glad that I came to this speed mentoring,' a participant in the programme shared.
The organisers hoped that participants were able to get customised and need-based answers to their questions. They believe that like these types of events help youths propel their business ideas, and thus, contribute strongly to advancing the enterprising mindset in Nepal.
In this regard, both NYEF and HIVER considered the event to have been extremely successful. Companies including MetLife, Veda, Tigg and Green Law associates were the partners for the event.
