BIRGUNJ: Local residents have seized six trucks laden with chemical fertilisers from the province office store of Krishi Samagri Company in Parsa district.
Irate local farmers took control of the chemical fertilisers at Krishi Samagri Company office store, Bhutandevi being transported to other districts.
Birgunj Metropolitan City Mayor Rajesh Man Singh, who reached the office following the seizure of loaded trucks by farmers, informed that he would take initiative to increase the quota of chemical fertilisers in the district.
On the issue, locals held discussions with Mayor Singh and Krishi Samagri Company Province Office Birgunj Manager Chandra Chamlagain, among others.
The provincial office of the company has been distributing fertilisers in Parsa. Though farmers here require 8,000 metric tonnes of fertilisers, the metropolis has set a limited quota of 800 metric tonnes, locals complained.
