NC Gandaki Provincial Committee demands to roll back tax increase

POKHARA: Nepali Congress Gandaki Provincial Committee has demanded immediate cancellation of the taxes raised by the provincial government. Issuing a statement, party spokesperson Madhav Prasad Banstola (Madhu) has drawn the government's attention to the decision that has troubled people and demanded that last year's tax rate be kept unchanged. Decisions that have been taken against the sentiments of people need to be amended immediately, said the statement. The party has said it has taken serious note of the complaints received from the common citizens that the taxes related to transport and land have increased unexpectedly compared to the previous year in the budget of the Gandaki government for the year 2022/23. Meanwhile, the party welcomed the federal government's announcement to hold the elections for the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly on November 20 and urged the party leaders and workers to go among the people with high morale to ensure victory in the elections.
