KU to run Master of Media Studies programme

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu University (KU) has launched Master of Media Studies programme this academic year. The KU will run the programme from the Department of Languages and Mass Communication of the School of Arts. Head of Department of Languages and Mass Communication Dr Sudhamshu Dahal has said admission is open for the Master in Media Studies that will cover media entrepreneurship, management and media-related dimensions. A total of 20 students will be enrolled for the programme. Issues of culture, film and technology will also be included in this programme. Associate Professor of KU Dr Nirmal Mani Adhikari said one-fourth of the course will be based on research projects besides theoretical knowledge and technical skills. The total cost of the programme is estimated at around Rs 400,000 and 20% of the total students will get scholarships, Dr Dahal shared.
