
KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday approved the agreement on granting approval to obtain membership in the Global Green Growth Institute (GGI).
The proposal tabled by Minister for Forests and Environment Pradeep Yadav was unanimously passed after holding a discussion on it.
Earlier, responding to the queries raised by the parliamentarians Minister Yadav expressed his belief that after the implementation of the agreement more international investments will be received in the field of forestry and the environment.
Meanwhile, Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for manufacturing chemical fertiliser in the country.
Based in Seoul, Republic of Korea, GGGI is a treaty-based international, intergovernmental organisation that supports developing country governments' transition to a model of economic growth that is environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive.
