NOC hikes fuel price; petrol costs Rs 181 per litre

KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), the state-owned trading enterprise that imports, stores and distributes petroleum products, has increased the price of petroleum products with effect from midnight today. The NOC has increased Rs 2 per litre in the price of petrol, Rs 9 per litre in diesel and kerosene each, and Rs 5 in aviation turbine fuel (domestic). with the new decision coming into effect, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 181 and diesel Rs 172. Previously, ATF (Domestic) was being sold at Rs 185 per litre. The government had slashed Rs 20 per litre in petrol and Rs 29 in diesel, on June 25. The price of ATF (international) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has remained intact, the NOC said. The price of petroleum products has been revised following the spike in the price list obtained from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). The NOC stated that the price of petroleum products was continuously increasing and so was the payment for the purchase of the same. It is estimated that the arrears to be paid to the IOC would reach Rs 30 billion as of July 8. READ ALSO:
