Sigdel bags Women’s Open Golf tourney title

KATHMANDU: Sushma Sigdel won the Women's Open Golf Tournament - 2022 title on Saturday. She received a scooter, Rs 50,000 cash and other presents. Likewise, Kasmira Shah, the first runner-up of the one-day tournament organised at Royal Nepal Golf Club, Kathmandu, received Rs 30,000 cash among other gifts. Similarly, in the senior category, Rekha Ghimire won the title. She received Rs 50,000 cash and first runner-up Kalyani Moktan Rs 30,000 cash. Likewise, in the junior category, winner Aistina Tandan got Rs 30,000 cash and first runner-up Soni Tamang Rs 20,000 cash. A total of 34 golfers took part in the tournament. She mentioned sports as a means for not only the physical and mental development of people but also for helping with the country's development as a whole. So this will help ease the development of sport tourism and attract international athletes through the promotion of sports."
