KALAIYA: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the coalition government will move ahead keeping the construction of Nijgadh International Airport at top priority.
Prime Minister Deuba, who reached Bara district on Saturday along with top leaders of the ruling alliance partners to inspect the proposed international airport from Nepali Army chopper, mentioned that the construction of Nijgadh airport should not be delayed.
He expressed commitment to start construction of the airport with a two-lane runway soon. Saying Tarai-Madhes fast track and airport are the projects connected with each other, PM Deuba announced that the construction of both projects will not be stopped.
Similarly, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, shared there will be a loss of billions of rupees to the state if Nijgadh airport is not constructed.
Likewise, Chairperson of CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, welcomed the Supreme Court's verdict with full text regarding the Nijgadh airport.
Upendra Yadav, Chairperson of Janata Samajbadi Party, said there was no alternative to constructing international airport in Nijgadh as the airport would help in Tarai-Madhes's economy, as well as create employment for citizens of this area.
Stating that Prime Minister Deuba is determined to construct the international airport in Nijgadh, Vice-Chair of Rastriya Janamorcha, Durga Poudel, said his party has already agreed in this regard.
Minister for Forest, Ram Sahaya Yadav, Tourist Minister Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma, Minister for Water Supply, Uma Kant Chaudhary, Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Rajendra Prasad Pandey, were present on the occasion.
