KATHMANDU: Two more international airlines are going to operate their regular flights from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
Thai Smile Airways of Thailand will start its flight from July 1 and SriLankan Airlines from July 6, according to the TIA office.
Thai Smile Airways will be operating flights from TIA for the first time while SriLankan Airlines is resuming its flight, which was closed due to Covid 19 pandemic.
Spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Jagannath Niraula, said Thai Smile Airways will operate Kathmandu-Bangkok direct flight from Friday.
According to the CAAN, the Thai company has got permission to operate flights seven days in a week while the Sri Lankan company has got permission to operate seven regular flights a week against four flights.
As many as 24 airlines including two Nepali airlines have now been operating international flights from TIA.
