President reshuffles Cabinet, appoints 4 ministers, 1 state minister

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has reshuffled the existing Council of Ministers formed on July 13, 2021. President Bhandari today appointed four ministers and one state minister and assigned them with their portfolios at the recommendation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba as per the Article 76 (1) and 78 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, the Office of the President of Nepal stated. Photo: RSS[/caption] According to the Office of the President, Jeevan Ram Shrestha is named the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Metmani Chaudhary the Minister for Urban Development, Bhawani Prasad Khapung Minister for Health and Population and Sher Bahadur Kunwar Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security. Likewise, Hira Chandra KC is named State Minister for Health and Population. The newly appointed five ministers represent the CPN (Unified Socialist) party. Two residential ambassadors appointed Earlier today, President Bhandari appointed Kailash Raj Pokharel and Kanta Rijal as Nepal's residential ambassadors to Australia and Israel respectively. Pokharel and Rijal have been appointed the residential ambassadors in accordance with Article 282 of the Constitution of Nepal, according to Sagar Acharya, Spokesperson at the Office of President. The appointment was made after the recommendations of the Council of Ministers, Spokesperson Acharya said issuing a press statement today.
