BAGMATI: Locals of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City in Makawanpur district are elated at the budget announcement that Hetauda garments factory which has been closed for two decades will be resumed.
Tabling the budget for the fiscal year 2022/23 on Sunday, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma announced that the closed garment factory will be brought into operation again. Minister Sharma further stated that public officials should wear the clothes produced within the country.
Hetauda Industrial Estate chief Rajendra Kandel said the government's decision to resume the sick industries is positive. He argued the factory was closed although it was not in a sorry state. Currently, there is Armed Police Force (APF) post at the factory site.
Similarly, Prof Dr Lalit Karna from Institute of Forestry at Hetauda observed that the budget brought on Sunday covered various sectors and importantly, it announced that the Hetauda garment factory will be brought into operation again. Resumption of this industry was a current need and the budget addressed it, he appreciated.
Prof Karna also said the government's plan to resume the garments factory has made people in Hetauda happy.
