Budget: National cyber information centre to be established

KATHMANDU: The government has announced that a national cyber information centre will be established to make information and communication sector respected, responsible and safe. Announcing the annual budget for the fiscal year, 2022/23 on Sunday, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma informed that the centre will be focused on safety of electronic information systems. Similarly, the government will decrease the internet tariff and ensure quality and accessible telecommunication services. Under the communications category, the Finance Minister further announced that security printing and printing department will be merged. The scheme of accident insurance for journalists and public welfare advertisement are also continued by the government. Even the online media will be incorporated in this scheme. Service of Radio Nepal and Nepal Television will be reached to 100% geography while film city in Dolakha will be forwarded in a public-private partnership concept. The Ministry for Communication and Information Technology has been allocated Rs 8.69 billion for the coming fiscal year. By RSS READ ALSO:
