SANKHUWASABHA: Former Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has stated that the nation's economy is on the path to recovery.
Speaking at a press conference held by the Press Union Sankhuwasabha Chapter in Khandbari today, Karki asserted that the country's economy has regained its previous momentum.
Nepali Congress leader Karki expressed that the current coalition government is striving to steer the economy back on track, adding that the economy, which was severely impacted by the Covid 19 pandemic, is gradually returning to normalcy.
On a different note, the NC leader described the MCC as a grant aid received by Nepal, which should be implemented within five years. "The MCC will serve as a cornerstone in Nepal's energy sector," he added. He further claimed that it would aid in reducing the trade deficit and contribute to the country's prosperity.
Karki also mentioned that the under-construction Arun-III project will bolster the country's economy, and he opined that the residents of Sankhuwasabha district should be the primary beneficiaries of the project.
Furthermore, he predicted that all the candidates of the ruling alliance will triumph in the forthcoming National Assembly (NA) elections.
