NEPSE Index decreases 31.49 points, closes at 2098.69

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange witnessed a decline of 1.47% today, closing at 2098.69. Markets commenced trading at 2128.4 and attained an intra-day high of 2134.24. However, markets corrected and slumped to an intra-day low of 2091.03 at 2:47 PM. 18,043,244 shares exchanged hands in 150,543 transactions during the trading session. Market turnover was a whopping 6.36 billion.

Upper Syange Hydropower Limited (9.98%) was the star performer on the bullish side. Mid-Solu Hydropower Limited (9.46%) and Asha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (6.69%) followed in second and third positions respectively. On the flip side, Dordi Khola Jal Bidyut Company Limited (-8.83%) led the bearish run. Himalayan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (-7.27%) and Liberty Energy Company Limited (-6.78%) followed closely. 36 securities advanced while 209 declined. Himalayan Reinsurance (HRL) continued leading the top turnover race with 786.38 million.
