KATHMANDU: NEPSE index declined by 0.01% to reach 2098.29 at market close today. The secondary market of Nepal decreased by 0.40 points. Total turnover amounted to Rs. 4.295 billion. During today’s trading, 11,801,360 shares exchanged hands in 117,566 transactions. Sensitive index, calculated from the market capitalization of securities classified under group ‘A’, also dropped to 381.17, a decrease of 0.11 points from the previous session.
As many as 103 companies listed in NEPSE observed bullish while 137 observed bearish trends. Chandragiri Hills Ltd (10%), Nepal Lube Oil Ltd (9.99%) and NMB Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd (9.92%) lifted the markets on an upward trajectory. However, Mid-Solu Hydropower Ltd (-6.20%), Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd (-5.90%) and Upper Syange Hydropower Ltd (-4.84%) led the bearish momentum.
The markets last observed bullish trading on 16 January when the index climbed 54.55 points to attain 2175.17. Bearish sentiments had influenced the market thereafter with the index plunging to 2098.69 yesterday.
