KATHMANDU: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari, has announced that the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights has been developed to foster business practices that respect and protect human rights.
At the launch of 'National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights 2080/81-2084/85 BS', organised by the Ministry in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu today, Minister Bhandari expressed his belief that the Action Plan will significantly encourage businesspeople to promote security and respect in society, fulfilling their societal responsibilities and contributing to a noticeable improvement in living standards.
He emphasized the importance of effectively implementing the action plan to ensure responsible business practices and respect for human rights.
National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Chairperson Top Bahadur Magar stated that the National Action Plan includes the 35-point recommendations provided by the Commission to enhance it.
He urged all parties to make efforts for the successful implementation of the action plan to protect the rights of indigenous nationalities and minorities, as well as to conserve the environment.
