KATHMANDU: Keeping up with the bearish sentiments in the secondary market, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index decreased 0.18% or 3.94 points to close at 2084.09 today.
The level of 2090 was breached for the first time since 11 January 2024. The stock market of Nepal witnessed a sharp rise to 2175.17 on 16 January 2024.
Today’s trading session observed a further fall in the daily turnover as it reduced to 3.764 billion. It is the lowest daily turnover since the turn of the New Year. However, the number of total traded shares and total transactions increased mildly to 11,689,955 and 91,364 respectively. 304 scrips were transacted. The total market capitalization stood at Rs 3.273 trillion.
In the bullish and bearish race, 91 securities advanced while 141 declined. Samling Power Company Limited (9.99%), Mid-Solu Hydropower Limited (8.79%) and Infinity Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (8.12%) were the top bullish securities. On the flip side, Citizens Mutual Fund 2 (-5.03%), Dhaulagiri Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (-4.35%) and Mahuli Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (-4.10%) led the bearish companies.
