Government will revive long-closed industries: PM Dahal

BIRGUNJ: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the government is committed to reviving the long-closed industries.

Speaking at the 20th Establishment Day and National Council Meeting of Press Centre Nepal in Birgunj, Parsa district, PM Dahal mentioned ongoing efforts to revive key industries such as the Biratnagar Jute Mill, Hetauda Textile Factory, Gorakhkali Rubber Industry, and Butwal Spinning Mills.

He stated that these factories would operate under a private-public partnership (PPP) model. PM Dahal expressed the government’s commitment to budget formulation through the collaborative efforts of political parties. The upcoming policies and programmes are designed to prioritise citizens’ interests and promote social justice.

He anticipated significant changes through the upcoming budget, and policies and programmes. Submissions from local and provincial governments will be sought during the formulation procedures.

He also mentioned the government’s strong action against land mafia and usury practices. The decision to include labour from informal, self-employment, and foreign employment in the Social Security Fund is among the notable achievements of the current government.
