NEPSE edges higher, closes at 2119.61

KATHMANDU: Continuing on the bullish run, the secondary market of Nepal soared by 14.88 points to close at 2119.61 today.

The Sensitive Index, gauging the market capitalisation of “A” class securities, also closed higher at 381.71, a positive change of 0.65 points. Total turnover valued at 5.544 billion, the highest since January 22,  2024. Turnover figures had plunged after  January 17, 2024, but have recovered considerably this week. 15,178,368 shares exchanged hands in 117,059 transactions. 

As many as 152 listed securities observed bullish trends while 85 bearish trends. Chandragiri Hills Limited (10%) along with Samaj Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (10%) and Rawa Energy Development Limited (10%) stayed ahead in the uptrend. Mid-Solu Hydropower Limited (-8.35%), Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (-5.45%) and NIC Asia Balanced Fund (-3.90%) led in the downward trend. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) was the undisputed winner in turnover (752.79 million), volume (1,070,172 shares) and transactions (26,218) races.
