Finance Minister advocates for CAs in tax administration for better governance

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat has expressed the government's willingness to engage chartered accountants in tax administration. He shared this sentiment while speaking at the 27th anniversary of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal and the sixth convocation ceremony.

He confidently stated, "If chartered accountants fulfil their professional duties with integrity, it ensures good governance."

The Finance Minister further added, "Once our accounting and chartered accountants meet the required standards, many issues will be resolved. We need to prioritise and address serious problems after categorising the arrears. It's essential to incorporate Chartered Accountants into our tax administration."
