NEPSE declines to 2067.01, turnover drops to 4.18 billion

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange observed bearish trend today decreasing by 1.47% or 30.92 points to close at 2067.01. This is the lowest that the index has closed since January 9,  2024 where the index was at 2080.12. Sensitive index also fell 4.69 points to stand at 373.93. The drop in NEPSE index influenced total daily turnover amounting to Rs 4.18 billion resulting from 11,514,571 shares and 80,029 transactions. Shares of 309 companies were transacted. 

Hydropower was the worst hit (-2.35%) among the sectors. Microfinance index (-1.47%), Manufacturing & Processing index (-1.33%), Development Bank index (-1.30%) and Investment index (-1.29%) were the other noteworthy ones. Finance index (+0.21%) was the only sector with a modest gain. 

Across the trading board, 19 listed securities traded on the positive side while 226 declined. Samaj Laghubittya Bittiya Sanstha Limited (6.10%), Rawa Energy Development Limited (3.83%) & 10.25% Sunrise Bank Debenture 2083 (3.50%) were the top listed bullish trades. Samling Power Company Limited (-9.42%), Mid Solu Hydropower Limited (-6.88%) & Molung Hydropower Company Limited (-6.47%) won the bearish race. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited continued to lead the top turnover with 540.184 million.
