After three consecutive bearish sessions, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) observed bullish trading on Monday.
NEPSE Index grew by 0.70% or 14.57 points to close at 2076.27. Sensitive index also surged 1.59% to conclude at 379.28. A total of 7,491,303 shares of 310 securities exchanged hands in 56,775 transactions. However, total turnover declined by 25% to stand at 2.438 billion.
In alignment with the overall growth, others index (+4.68%), development bank index (+0.65%), hydropower index (+0.53%) and investment index (+0.50%) led the charge in the uptrend territory. On the contrary, non-life insurance (-0.41%) and hotels & tourism (-0.20%) indices closed lower.
According to NEPSE, 148 listed securities observed bullish trends while 86 declined. Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (10%), People's Power Limited (10%) & Samaj Laghubittya Bittiya Sanstha Limited (9.99%) were the top gainers. Meanwhile, Swabhimaan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (6.78%), Bishal Bazar Company Limited (5.36%) & Chandragiri Hills Limited (3.83%) were the top losers. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited won the honors in the top turnover list with 185.905 million followed by Ngadi Group Power Ltd. with 154.695 million.
