NEPSE climbs 0.45% to close at 2085.71

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange observed an uptrend today climbing 9.44 points or 0.45% to close at 2085.71. The secondary market of Nepal had also witnessed bullish trading in yesterday’s session. However, Sensitive index, gauging Class “A” listed securities, reduced 1.45 points or 0.38% to close at 377.83. Total turnover grew modestly to record 2.591 billion. 315 companies’ shares were transacted. Meanwhile, 7,624,376 shares were exchanged in 66,559 transactions.

Across the sub-indices, manufacturing and processing (+1.08%) led from the front with non-life insurance (+1.07%) finishing a close second in the bullish race. Development Bank (+0.86%), microfinance (0.83%), hydropower (0.77%), life insurance (+0.75%) and hotels & tourism (+0.75%) also climbed significantly today.

As per NEPSE, 181 companies advanced while 57 declined. Samaj Laghubittya Bittiya Sanstha Limited (9.99%), Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (9.42%) & United Ajod Insurance Limited (7.40%) were the top three securities in the uptrend. Samling Power Company Limited (-10%), Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (-5.10%) & Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme - 2 (-3.71%) closed lower than others. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) continues to lead the top turnover list with 337.602 million.
