NEPSE Index increases 0.23% to close at 2090.64

KATHMANDU: Driven by Hotel and Tourism, and Life Insurance listed securities, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) increased by 4.92 points or 0.23% to close at 2090.64 today. The secondary market of Nepal has observed bullish trends for the past three trading days. Sensitive Index has also climbed to 377.95. Total turnover surged to 2.842 billion. A total of 7,732,234 shares of 313 companies were executed in 65,463 transactions.

Among the sectors, Hotels & Tourism (+1.50%) was the front runner followed by Life Insurance (+1.29%) and Hydropower (+0.94%). On the flip side, others Index (-1.53%), non-life insurance (-0.39%) and manufacturing & processing (-0.17%) traded downwards.

Today’s trade witnessed 168 listed securities scaling upwards while 68 followed downtrends. Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (10%), Samaj Laghubittya Bittiya Sanstha Limited (10%) & Buddha Bhumi Nepal Hydropower Company Limited (10%) were top performers on bullish trades. 9.5% NCC Debenture 2086 (-5.25%), United Ajod Insurance Limited (-4.87%) & Citizens Super 30 Mutual Fund (-4.84%) generated the maximum losses. In the turnovers race, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) claimed the honors again with 248.268 million.
