KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has raised the prices of petroleum products — petrol, diesel, and kerosene.

The cost of petrol has seen an increase of Rs 1.83 per litre, and diesel by Rs 1.56 per litre, bringing the retail price of petrol to Rs 172 per litre, and both diesel and kerosene to Rs 160 per litre each. However, the prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) remain unchanged.

NOC, a state-owned enterprise responsible for the import, storage, and distribution of petroleum products, has justified the fuel price hike by stating that the Indian Oil Corporation raised the prices of petroleum products on their purchase list on February 15, 2024.

Before this, on February 1, NOC had raised the price of petrol by Rs 4 per litre, and diesel and kerosene by Rs 2 per litre each.
