KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that the government has implemented legal measures to address issues arising from the same individual or group owning both business and bank.
In response to questions raised by MPs at today's House of Representatives meeting, Prime Minister Dahal mentioned that additional policy and legal reforms are being made. He pointed out that if the country's limited resources are confined to a select few, it could invite various risks and limit the benefits to those few. This was in reference to the provision that restricts an individual or group from acquiring loans from banks.
On another note, the Prime Minister said the government prioritises increasing domestic production and job creation. He mentioned that the 'Domestic Employment Promotion Decade' is being observed as a campaign to create employment opportunities within the country. There are initiatives to prioritise investment in the productive sector and utilise domestic labour.
PM Dahal also shared that the Prime Minister's Employment Programme will be restructured and linked to outcomes to enhance its effectiveness.
He stated that the government is committed to implementing the fundamental rights and reservations of indigenous people in civil service. He said, "The government is serious and committed to creating the necessary laws to protect the constitutional rights of marginalised and underprivileged communities, including the Tharu community."
