PM Dahal pledges to address issues plaguing microfinance, cooperatives

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has committed to taking the initiative to tackle the issues plaguing microfinance and cooperatives. 

During his meeting with representatives of those affected by the confused state of microfinance and cooperatives at Singha Durbar in Kathmandu today, the Prime Minister gave assurances that these problems will be addressed.

Recognising the role of cooperatives and microfinance in linking rural and impoverished communities with financial services, PM Dahal recently acknowledged that these sectors were facing significant challenges. He said, 'There are some complications that are contextual, while others are the result of professional dishonesty from board members. These problems will be gradually resolved.' He also emphasized the need for a collective effort to rectify the situation.

During the discussions, the representatives expressed their gratitude to the government for its efforts so far to improve the situation.
