KATHMANDU: NEPSE Index fell 0.31% or 6.46 points to reach 2026.59, the lowest since January 8.

Interestingly, the secondary market had hiked to 2175.17 in a few trading sessions thereafter, the highest level in 2024. With overall bearish market sentiments firmly in place, it seems unlikely that the markets will rebound to such peaks again.

Total turnover was 2.241 billion, the lowest since December 10. 313 scrips involving 6,341,174 shares were traded in 58,362 transactions. Apart from Manufacturing & Processing (+2.84%), all other sectors observed downward trends. Leading the bearish run was Hydropower (-0.88%) followed by Others (-0.87%) and Hotels & Tourism (-0.73%). 80 listed securities witnessed uptrends while 159 declined.
