KATHMANDU: Discussions between the representatives of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) have been favourable regarding the power trade agreement.
As per the agreement between NEA and BPDB, Nepal is set to export electricity to Bangladesh from the upcoming monsoon season.
The negotiations took place between a team led by the NEA's Managing Director, Kul Man Ghising, and the BPDB's Tender Evaluation Committee in Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital city. Ghising stated that a final agreement will be reached shortly, with every detail of the power trade deal being finalised.
He added, "They are expected to receive approval from their senior authority. A consensus has been reached to procure electricity from Nepal from the upcoming monsoon season, with the approval and other processes to be completed as soon as possible."
